What Every Health Communicator Needs to Know About AI

Every public health professional is short on resources and capacity—and when you can’t add staff to the payroll or hours to the day, AI tools like ChatGPT can give you a dramatic boost.

Combining AI and public health can make it possible to achieve better health outcomes and greater health equity in less time, and understanding how they work and using those tools effectively and safely is now an essential part of any public health communicator’s toolkit.

Applying the synergy of

AI and Public Health

What Every Health Communicator Needs to Know About AI is an on-demand course by communication strategist and trainer, Karen Hilyard, Ph.D., who has been in the trenches for nearly two decades partnering with agencies like CDC, NIH, and other national, state, and local organizations.

In 14 bite-size modules that you can easily complete over a cup of coffee or tea, you’ll get hands-on practice, exercises to hone your skills, and one-pager job aids you can use daily. In less than two hours, you’ll learn how to use artificial intelligence in public health from program design to image generation and be ready to make your job as a health communicator easier once you put it to work.  Plus you’ll get the safety and ethics information you and your team need.  And if you have questions: live Zoom sessions with the instructor — all included!
